Words

I keep meaning to add new newfoundland words to a lexicon list on this blog, but always forget them before I get here.
Tonight I learned that a traditionally shaped kettle, the squat angular type with the handle that goes over the fill hole in the top is called a slut.
Excellent.

Hi Jane and Peter. Colleen here from Habitant! Got your blog link from Sheila. Love your one on pottery since I have just started taking courses and alreay have lots of "whatsits" now in my house that are cluttering shelves and yet don't seem to have an obvious purpose.

Would you have an email or contact info. for the girl I met at your dinner party this summer. She worked at Bishop's Cellar in Hlfx. I can't remember her name but wanted to see if she wanted to hang out sometime in the city? Thanks

Hope you are both well and enjoying the Rock. Chris and Sheila are taking good care of your place. It is all decked out for Christmas.

Cheers,
Colleen
